Engine

The 2006 BMW Series 6 models are offered in both the coupe and convertible versions. The V8 engine that produces 325 hp is replaced by 360 hp V8 engine for the 2006 model year. The engine can be mated to three transmissions, the 6-speed automatic, sequential manual and conventional manual transmission. With the V8 engine, the sports car can achieve fuel economy of 15 mpg in the city streets and 22 mpg on the highway roads. The new V10 engine to the coupe version is also introduced in the same year, which is mated to 7-speed SMT transmission.
